Recipe Review

This dinner was a nice change of pace from the usual pasta and sauce dishes. The curry cauliflower “cream” sauce was flavorful and the peas were the perfect vegetable compliment for the sauce. It was only mildly spicy so it was perfect for giving to my toddlers.

The blended cauliflower with the sautéed onion gave a nice base to the sauce with some garlic and curry powder adding a bit more flavour and kick. I like that the sauce was fully vegetable based but did not give me heartburn like a typical tomato sauce does.

However, I think calling this recipe a “cream” sauce is quite a stretch. There was nothing creamy about it and none of the ingredients were supposed to add creaminess. No non-dairy milk. soya cream, cashews, etc. Even though it was not creamy it was certainly tasty though and I would make it again.

Why isn’t the recipe posted here?

This post is part of the Forks Over Knives Cookbook Project, an effort to post pictures and reviews of all 300+ recipes to help you decide which recipe is worth cooking. The cookbook only has a few photos so hopefully people find it helpful to see what the recipes look like once prepared.

I also wouldn’t want anyone new to this way of eating to get discouraged by spending a lot of time and effort on recipes that don’t taste amazing, since WFPB food can definitely taste great. I apologise about the lack of a recipe included but I cannot post it for copyright reasons. However, many of their recipes can be found on their website or their app if you don’t have the cookbook.
