Recipe Review

Make sure you use the freshest strawberries and peaches in this one and freeze them yourself. I find that the frozen peaches are often lacking in flavour so fresh peaches should be used for the absolute best tasting smoothie. Also, make sure you use soft medjool dates or soak your dates before blending. The first time I bought dates and added them to a smoothie, I used deglet noors which are harder and didn’t blend well when I used a cheap blender. I now have a Ninja blender and food processor which I LOVE and makes vegan sauces and smoothies extra smooth and creamy.

This strawberry peach smoothie is a quick and refreshing summer treat. It is perfectly sweetened only with dates and the natural sugar from the fruit. It is simply blended peaches, strawberries, and dates with some unsweetened plant based milk. The Strawberry Peach Smoothie is a big hit with all five of my children and they ask for it all the time.

Why isn’t the recipe posted here?

This post is part of the Forks Over Knives Cookbook Project, an effort to post pictures and reviews of all 300+ recipes to help you decide which recipe is worth cooking. The cookbook only has a few photos so hopefully people find it helpful to see what the recipes look like once prepared.

I also wouldn’t want anyone new to this way of eating to get discouraged by spending a lot of time and effort on recipes that don’t taste amazing, since WFPB food can definitely taste great. I apologise about the lack of a recipe included but I cannot post it for copyright reasons. However, many of their recipes can be found on their website or their app if you don’t have the cookbook.
